Upper Walls Shirt Design / Shoot

December 2024 / January 2025
Seattle Bouldering Project

The Fremont location of Seattle Bouldering Project reached out to me / friend Collin Finley to design a shirt to advertise for
their location Upper Walls. This location has the lowest amount of check-ins for their Seattle gyms and they hoped to
drive more members to check it out.

Of the 50 shirts printed these sold faster than any other shirt they have in their retail selection. Selling out within a few weeks.

We designed the shirts via photoshop, and sketching. We came up with the design by researching other climbing brands to
see what styles would be appropriate and trendy for a commercial gym. We chose 3625 to be the front of the shirt as
that is their street address for the gym. We wanted it to be a conversation starter, ie. “Oh what’s 3625?”

For the photography portion of the project I wanted to emphasize the training aspect of Upper Walls. This gym is quite
smaller, has a tension board, kilter board, and the route setting is designed for more routes to get reps in. I wanted to find
ways to draw attention to the designs in camera and motion blur was the perfect way to capture the movements in climbing.
